The story behind the painting.
In this painting you can see that the green eyed lady is
looking for understanding, and the Raven is taking an interest is what she is
about to do. She’s alone in the woods and cannot fine her way out of her
thoughts. In her mind, it’s as if the woods are a sign of her entanglement. The
Raven is about to call out to her as if to say, I know of your concern and I
feel for you. They will begin to consort, and fine a way out of this
entanglement she thinks she is in. As we look closely she is embracing her
heart, a sign that maybe the two have in common. The Raven is the stronger of
the two, but who knows if the Raven knows of her heart. And the kinship of the two may now have reconciled her
dilemma. The two can now leave the woods and only God knows if the heart is
released to find understanding.
